The Role
Reporting directly to senior leadership and operating at board level, you will take full responsibility for driving the health & safety strategy across multiple civil engineering and construction projects throughout the region.
This is not just a compliance role — it is a leadership position requiring strategic vision, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence operational teams and directors alike.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop the regional H&S strategy in line with business objectives

Advise the board on all matters relating to health, safety, and compliance

Ensure full compliance with current UK H&S legislation and anticipate future legislative changes

Drive continuous improvement and promote a proactive safety culture

Oversee audits, investigations, reporting, and risk management processes

Support operational teams across multiple live civil engineering projects

Engage with external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and clients
About You
We are looking for an experienced H&S professional who:

Has a strong background within construction and/or civil engineering

Has operated at senior or board level, influencing strategic decisions

Is fully up to date with current UK health & safety legislation and emerging regulatory changes

Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills

Has a proven track record of improving safety performance across complex projects
Relevant professional qualifications (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent) are expected.
