Maintenance Electrician

Boyd Recruitment are recruiting for a leading Structural Steel Fabrication and Construction company, who are looking to add an experienced Maintenance Electrician

Our client looking to recruit an electrician with control gear experience working with 440V/240V. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager,
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to fault find and repair breakdowns on Machines and plant equipment, i.e., drills, blaster, saws, conveyors, welding units and overhead cranes etc.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting equipment to ensure optimal functionality and in line with the maintenance plan and update files accordingly.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, codes, and standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct safety checks, risk assessments, and implement safety measures to minimize the potential for electrical hazards.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, including inspection reports, repair logs and equipment performance data.
  • Keep up to date with the latest electrical regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure compliance in all maintenance activities.
  • Ensure safe systems of work are adhered to during all maintenance works, including COSHH assessments.
  • Collaborate with the team to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve complex issues.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates, discuss maintenance plans, and address any concerns.
  • Identify opportunities for improving electrical performance, energy efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
  • Report any issues to your line manager.
  • Lead by example and always promote safe working by working to procedures m following safe systems of work and wearing correct PPE / RPE as required.
  • Skills and Experience

Skills and Experience

  • Applicants must have completed a recognized trade apprenticeship or relevant Electrical Qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and equipment.
  • Experience in working in control cabinets with invert drive, PLC modules, Servo drive motor controls.
  • The ability to juggle a varied and demanding workload.
  • Proficiency in electrical testing and diagnostic tools
  • The ability to work to strict and tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
