Boyd Recruitment are currently looking to recruit an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver / Operator on behalf of a well-established utilities contractor, supporting projects within the power and overhead line (OHL) sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety-conscious driver to join an established team, supporting the delivery of plant, equipment, materials and poles to various project sites.

The Role

• Deliver poles, excavators, plant and materials to various sites across Scotland.

• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles remain safe, legal and roadworthy.

• Ensure all loads are correctly secured and vehicles are not overloaded.

• Complete all relevant driving documentation, vehicle checks and tachograph records.

• Work closely with site supervisors and operational teams to coordinate deliveries.

• Follow all company and client health and safety procedures.

• Assist with loading and unloading operations, including the use of a mounted crane (HIAB) where qualified.

Essential Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.

• Valid Driver CPC.

• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.

• HIAB certification.

• Strong understanding of vehicle safety, load security and drivers' hours regulations.

• Reliable, professional and flexible approach to work.

Desirable

• Previous experience within the utilities or construction sectors.

• CSCS card or equivalent.

• NPORS 360 Excavator qualification.

• Experience operating HIAB-mounted vehicles.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong focus on health and safety and can work effectively as part of a team. Previous experience delivering plant and materials to construction or utilities sites would be advantageous.
