Civil Engineer - Glasgow
Boyd Recruitment are currently recruiting Civil Engineers on a permanent basis for an engineering design consultancy with offices throughout the UK.
Working from their head office in Glasgow, the consultancy provides technical services to clients across construction, transport, council, and private clients in Scotland and throughout the UK.
The Job
A large proportion of the role will be working in the civils team, and you should, therefore, have design experience in some or all the following: slope stability, foundation design, ground anchors, gravity and embedded retaining wall design, design of formwork, working platforms, culvert designs and report writing.
The Civil Engineer role will require a motivated individual who is technically and commercially capable as well as a good communicator able to:
- Undertake concept & detailed design.
- React quickly to emerging requirements.
- Be able to communicate via clear and well-presented drawings.
- Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines.
- Technical review of designs.
The Person
As Civil Engineer you will be a degree qualified civil engineer, with experience of working in a design consultancy. Rail experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
You should have a sound technical background and be competent in the use of general MS Office, AutoCAD, Strand 7 or equivalent FE analysis software and Slope/W or equivalent. Ideally with a good knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards and CDM Regulation.
